We want our fans to have a safe, fun, and comfortable experience at HVDD events. To ensure a great time, please review the following policies before attending bouts.
Location & parking
We play and practice at the Shove Shack, which is located at:
1922 W. 200 N.
Lindon, UT 84042
The Shove Shack is directly across the street from Lindon's animal shelter. There is limited parking at the venue itself, so get there early if you want a prime spot. Fans can also park on the street or at the building east of the Shove Shack.
Cost of admission
If you pay online, it only costs $10 per person to get in, which makes HVDD one of the cheapest date nights around! Admission at the door is $12, and kids under 5 get in free. We accept credit and debit cards via the Square app, as well as cash.
When to arrive
We play most home games on Saturdays. Typically, doors open at 6 pm and bouts begin at 7 pm.
Atmosphere
We have an eclectic group of fans, so if you're wondering whether you'll fit in, stop worrying! There's room for everyone in derby. Here's a rundown of what to expect:
- A rollicking good time - The best part about derby bouts is the actual derby. It's a full-contact sport that's 100% real and unscripted. Modern roller derby contains elements of football, ice hockey, and track, but derivative it ain't. Instead, derby is a fast-paced, highly strategic, and hard-hitting game of skill and power. It's also one of a handful of sports that were invented solely in the United States. To learn more, see these helpful tips.
- Tasty refreshments - Our concessions stand is stocked with treats like soda, candy, hot dogs, and fresh popcorn.
- Funny announcers - And dedicated refs, and crowd-pleasing halftime shows, and all the trappings of a well-run sporting event. An amateur sport doesn't have to be boring! Games are also a great way to get involved in the community; see our volunteer page for more info.
- The perfect length - Bouts last about 1 1/2 hours.
- Face time with the athletes - After a game, it's tradition for our skaters to whiz around the track and give spectators high-fives. Compared to most athletes, we're surprisingly approachable—if you see us milling around, feel free to say hi!
What not to do
Please refrain from:
- Entering restricted areas.
- Bringing or drinking alcohol.
- Partaking in any illegal activity.
- Bringing pets (service animals are welcome).
- Allowing children to play without supervision.
- Failing to follow instructions of event personnel.
- Using whistles, laser pointers, or any other device that could disrupt a bout.
- Rude or abusive behavior/language directed at anyone, including skaters, referees, event personnel, and other fans.
- Being creepy toward the Darlins. We love our fans, but each skater's sense of privacy and personal autonomy must be respected at all times.
Failure to follow these rules may result in ejection from the venue and loss of attendance privileges for the season (or longer, depending on the severity of the offense).
